This baby shower countdown checklist is a simple guide to help you plan your baby shower.

3 Months:

Choose the date for the baby shower
Create your guest list
Choose the location
Decide if the shower will be formal or informal
Decide if it will be a couple’s or women only shower
Choose a theme
Plan the menu
Order invitations

5-6 Weeks:

Send the invitations
Order party rentals (i.e., tables and chairs)

1 Month:

Order the cake
Finalize the menu
Buy decorations and party favors
Buy plates, napkins and utensils
Decide on party games
Buy prizes for party games

1 Week:

Compile a final guest count
Purchase a gift for the guest of honor
Order your food platters, if the event is not catered.
Choose some background music

Day Before:

Buy or prepare food
Pick up the cake
Pick up any food platters ordered
Buy beverages
Wrap gifts
Pick up rentals that aren't delivered
Make sure your camera is ready (i.e., batteries charged, empty memory card or new film)

The Day of the Baby Shower:

Start decorating
Buy any last minute items such as ice
Prepare the food table
Prepare a gift table
Arrange tables and party favors
Relax and enjoy yourself!
